More rain, more ice bergs and a camera

I know I haven't posted in a long time but what can say, it's still raining, there are still Icebergs floating off the coast and some people are saying Santa has called off Summer this year....... also in a surprising twist to my trip, my much traveled camera has finally made it home! So I guess I can post a picture I've actually taken again.

Public Servant Vs Telco Customer Service (Who wins?)

So I have a dispute with a British Telco, no surprise there.

In brief the Telco, Demon Internet, hence forth referred to simply as "Demon" has 47GBP which I believe belongs to me. I want it back. So putting everything I've learn as a public servant to the test, can I get my money back?

Round One: The Demon ignores my email. I write to the Demon's boss (THUS), who fwds it back to the Demon and I get referred to the helpline. Helplines are like some kind of reverse maze illusion, it looks like you can find a way out but you can't. So, .... round one to the Demon

QT

Well it was good to be back in Queenstown (QT) and if I ever miss England and the English Queenstown is the place to go. It seems QT is now a fixture on the English backpacker circuit. Still great w/e and at last I got to see proper mountains again!!!

Watch out for stow away penguins ....

When people find out where Invercargill is there's always one person who wants to know if we can see Icebergs. The answer is generally "no" ......

But summer is almost here, only 2ish weeks to go and I'm sure that'll banish the icebergs and those pesky penguins!

P.S Up to Queenstown this w/e !! First time in ... 3 ? years !!

My Pact on Global Warming

Just three weeks out from summer,it's still snowing in NZ and a local charter company is running quick flights out to the ice burgs that are floating past the coast. Sooo,here's my deal with the Planet:

The Globe agrees to warm up and I'll stop burning coal.

and finally ....

So I finally get home and all the comforts that, that entails, a bed, shelves and shelves of food, net access, stand up showers with hot water, washing AND DRYING machines. I know drying machines waste power but there's a kind of fresh only a dryer seems to get your clothes!! The list goes on ....

But of course they say there's no going home and some tings inevitably have changed:
* They've made the money really small and dinky
* TV is running a slew of very gushy kiwiana / patriotic adds.

So ends my blog .... well I might start a new blog to keep in touch with you uk lot, beats group emails.

Actually I've been slightly misleading. In an effort to surprise mum and dad I've snuck back into the country. I've caught up with my brother and Marti and am heading down to Invercargill and home in one hour (at 12:30 NZT) So if your reading this Mum and Dad I should be home 4ish. See you then.
